Brentford winger Florian Jozefzoon feels that the wins will start flowing soon as The Bees gear up for the next run of fixtures following the international break. Dean Smith’s side has lost just once in the last seven league games but have also only tasted victory once as well in that run. Now, with back-to-back home games to look forward to, Florian is confident those draws can be converted into victories.
Speaking to iFollow Brentford earlier this week, Florian said: “If you can’t win the game then you have to not lose the game and that is what we have done in the last five games. Some of those draws have felt like defeat but we are in good shape to turn those draws into wins. Every game that we play we go to play for the three points. We just focus on who we are playing and give everything to win every game.”
The Dutch-winger played a key role in extending The Bees unbeaten run to five in the league, setting up Ollie Watkins for his late leveller at home to Derby County and his goal at The Riverside Stadium against Middlesbrough four days later. Florian admitted his form hasn’t been the best all season but is keen to capitalise on his hot streak now.
“After pre-season, when I started very well, my form dropped away but now it is starting to come again,” revealed Florian. “I want to keep it that way throughout the season. When you are playing well you are important for the team. When someone is playing well, the team will try to give them everything that they need because they can help to win the game.”
As well as a rejuvenated Florian, Dean Smith will soon also have a fit Lasse Vibe, Lewis Macleod, and Sergi Canos to choose from. The 26-year-old admits it has been a real boost to get the injured trio back in training and feels it has pushed the standard up another notch.
“It is important to get everyone back,” said Florian. “Sometimes in games you just need something different and now maybe we can use them. That is very good for the team and will push everyone on to stay in the starting XI. We are happy to get them back because we are a team and we have to lift everybody. That’s the spirit that we have to create so that everybody is feeling good in the team. If everybody feels good then that will help us to get results and achieve what we want to achieve this season.”
