Brentford WFC Development suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Greater London Women’s Football League Division Three North leaders Denham United on Sunday.
The Bees went into the game in good spirits after back-to-back league wins but found United, who had won eight of their nine league games prior to Sunday’s clash, a different proposition. Hattie Kettle scored a first-half hat-trick to put the home side in command at the break before Alana Lazarus made it 4-0 shortly after the restart. Emily Reynolds then pulled one back with her seventh of the season but Denham had the final say, Keelie Horwood making it five late on.
The defeat leaves Justin and Nathan’s side fifth in the table with 13 points from their opening ten league games. The Development team are without a fixture next Sunday but return to league action in a fortnight’s time, hosting third placed East London Ladies. Meanwhile the First-Team head west for a cup game against Colne Valley next Sunday.
