Brentford Football Club deplores discrimination of any kind and welcomes the sentencing at Uxbridge Crown Court yesterday, Wednesday 1 November, where Christopher Boyes received a five-year Football Banning Order and a 200-hour Community Service Order having been found guilty of racially abusing Ollie Watkins.
Mr Boyes was also fined £175 and ordered to pay £100 compensation to Ollie after the racial abuse at the Brentford v Derby County fixture in September. Mr Boyes was watching the game from the away end and was arrested at the match. He was found guilty last month.
There can be no place for racism within football or society and the Club supports the strictest measures to eradicate racism from the game.
The Club would also like to thank and commend the authorities for their swift response to the original incident.
