Jack Bonham and Emiliano Marcondes were two of the five Bees out on loan that got game time this weekend.
Marcondes got himself on the scoresheet but couldn't prevent FC Nordsjælland falling to a 4-2 defeat away at Brondby. The home side's Teemu Pukki had scored a hat-trick in the first 60 minutes of the game before the visitors struck. Marcondes got his goal from the penalty spot in the 76th minute.
The result leaves FCN third in the Danish Superliga on 30 points from 16 games. Brondby extended their lead at the top to four points but FC Midtjylland have a game in hand to come later this week.
In England, Jack Bonham played the full game as Carlisle United beat Grimsby Town 1-0 in League Two. Jack had a solid game, including pulling off a fine save to stop Danny Collins' header from a corner to keep his side in control.
Experienced defender Clint Hill scored his first goal for United in the 70th minute to snatch three points for the away side. The result lifted Carlisle to 11th in the table, level on 26 points with Colchester United but with a better goal difference.
In the Vanarama National League, Zain Westbrooke was an unused substitute for Leyton Orient as the East Londoners drew 1-1 with table-toppers Dover Athletic. The visitors to E10 scored first through Nortei Nortey but The O's came back with a strike from Craig Clay.
Konstantin Kerschbaumer was also on the bench for Arminia Bielefeld as they also drew in the 2. Bundesliga on Friday night. Eintracht Braunschweig were the guests to the SchücoArena that ended in a 2-2 draw. Bielefeld are now ninth in the table; 12 points above rock bottom Kaiserslautern, who they face next weekend.
