Ellery Balcombe was an unused substitute as England Under-19s beat Faroe Islands 6-0 in their first match of the UEFA EURO U-19 First Qualifying Round (Group 8).
In Bulgaria, at the Trace Arena, Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah scored four of the six goals on the way to a resounding win for the Young Lions. Huddersfield Town's Ryan Schofield was the keeper tasked with the first match of the three-game break.
Ellery will be hoping he can step into the number one jersey for their next match on Saturday 11 November against Iceland, but also has a chance for game time when they face Bulgaria three days later.
Meanwhile in Croatia's Stadion Rovinjsko, playing in the same First Qualifying Round (Group 1), Mads Bech Sørensen played 90 minutes of Denmark U19's 2-1 win over Latvia.
Jãnis Grīnbergs opened the scoring for Latvia in the second minute of time, then Mads' side mounted a first-half comeback. Andreas Poulsen scored after 26 minutes and three minutes later Jens Odgaard had netted to put Denmark in control of the fixture.
Denmark's youth side also play games this coming Saturday and then Tuesday. The Danes face San Marino at the weekend and then Croatia on 14 November.
