Ellery Balcombe is looking forward to playing Premier League opposition in the week ahead with Brentford B. The England youth international took time out on Monday to discuss his travels, the game schedule and Brentford B.

"It's another test for the B Team," said Ellery, speaking to iFollow before getting on the team bus to South Wales. "It should be good to get a couple more wins as well."

"In that kind of game, I’ve got to be a lot faster when building out from the back and keep up my concentration more throughout the match.

"Swansea are a good side, they will press us high so I’m not going to have as much time on the ball. It’s good for me to develop in that situation."

Asked about his relationship with Mads Bech Sørensen and Jarvis Edobor, who have been partnered at centre-back most frequently this season, Ellery said: "They are both left-sided so it’s a strange partnership but they work well together and are both good guys. So far I’ve enjoyed my time with them."

Ellery has just returned from a trip away with England's Under-19 squad, where he played in their 1-0 win over Bulgaria. The result saw the Young Lions progress from the European Championships First Qualifying Round.

"It was good," said the 18-year-old. "It was good to qualify and get a clean sheet as well and now we are through to the next stage, which will be good.

"I was pretty busy [against Bulgaria], mostly with my feet, and I made a couple of good saves. As I said, it was just good to get that clean sheet.

"We’re a strong side, we have a couple of big players. We have bonded well as a team, especially with some new players coming in, we have adapted well."

Talking about returning to TW8, the goalkeeper said: "It’s always good to come back to my friends, it’s good to see the boys and get back into training as well."

Brentford B take on Swansea City at 11am this morning, Tuesday 21 November. Full coverage of the match will appear on and @BrentfordFC on Twitter.
