Henrik out of Denmark squad

Defender to sit out internationals

6 November 2017

Brentford defender Henrik Dalsgaard will not join up with Denmark for upcoming international fixtures due to injury. The right back was initially named in the squad for two vital matches but will now not link up with his national side. Henrik picked up an injury in Brentford’s win at Birmingham City last week and was unable to play in the win over Leeds United on Saturday. He will stay in West London for treatment ahead of Brentford’s next Championship fixture – against Cardiff City on 16 November.

Denmark play Republic of Ireland in two matches in three days that will decide if they will go to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Denmark play Ireland in Copenhagen on Saturday and then in Dublin next Tuesday, 14 November. The winner of the two-legged tie will go to the World Cup. Brentford defender Andreas Bjelland is in the Denmark squad for those matches.
