Herson Rodrigues Alves has signed a new contract. The Brentford B attacker put pen to paper on a new one-year deal yesterday morning, Tuesday 9 May. The 20-year-old, who can play in a variety of attacking positions, will now remain as part of the Brentford B squad until the end of the 2017/18 season.
Herson has been with Brentford for five years and signed professional in 2015, soon after he turned 18. He played for the Club’s Youth Team and Development Squad and was part of the first Brentford B squad when the group was formed last summer. He has scored nine goals in 23 games this season, including strikes in the prestigious Griffin Park games against Manchester United and Liverpool. Herson has also had spells on loan at Hampton and Richmond Borough and Sutton United during his time with The Bees.
"Herson’s had a good year, he’s added goals and assists to his game which is important for every Winger and indeed footballer. He had a bad loan at Sutton United in regards to playing time, I’m sure it was an experience for him but it was a mistake on my behalf sending him there as he wasn’t ready and I should’ve known that but he’s developed significantly over the last six months and we look forward to working with him next season."
