Brentford extend Florian Jozefzoon contract

12 May 2017

Dutch attacker to stay at Griffin Park for another year

Brentford have exercised an option in the contract of speedy attacker Florian Jozefzoon, keeping him with The Bees for a further 12 months. The Dutch winger had a one-year Club option in his contract and this has now been brought in to force. Florian will now be under contract at Brentford until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Florian, a former Netherlands Under-21 international, joined Brentford from PSV Eindhoven for an undisclosed fee in January. He signed an initial six-month contract with an option that has now been triggered. The 26-year-old is a product of the famous Ajax Youth Academy and made his professional debut for the Amsterdam side in the Dutch top division when he was 19. Florian, who has also played for his country at Under-19 level, had a loan spell at NAC Breda and played for RKC Waalwijk before joining PSV in the summer of 2013.

Florian has played a regular part for The Bees in the second half of the season. He has played 19 times since arriving at the Club, making six starts. He has set up three goals and scored his first goal in English football against Barnsley on Easter Monday, which earned The Bees a point and enabled them to end the season with just two defeats – and five wins – in the final nine games of the campaign.

Come and watch Florian at Griffin Park next year. Season Tickets are on sale now and Early Bird prices are in place until 31 May. Find full details, including prices, and how to buy here
