Sky Bet Championship line-up complete

Reading the final team confirmed for next season's second tier

30 May 2017

The full line-up for the 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship is now complete after Huddersfield Town's penalty shootout win over Reading at Wembley in Monday's Play-Off final.

The most lucrative match in football saw The Terriers secure top division football for the first time since the 1970s to complete a remarkable season for Town under David Wagner. 120 minutes of normal and extra time couldn't separate the two sides and it went down to the drama of spot-kicks. After Liam Moore and Jordan Obita has missed, Christopher Schindler slotted home from 12 yards to send The Terrriers to Premier League and consign Reading to another year in the second tier.

Joining Brentford in staying in the Championship for next season are:

Sheffield Wednesday
Birmingham City
Nottingham Forest
Leeds United

Norwich City
Derby County
Preston North End
Aston Villa
Cardiff City
Ipswich Town
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Bristol City
Queens Park Rangers
Burton Albion

Results earlier this month confirmed the three sides who will be coming down from the Premier League with Hull City joining Middlesbrough and Sunderland in the second tier with Sheffield United, Bolton Wanderers, and Millwall heading in the other direction after securing promotion from League One.
