Loan Round-Up

13 March 2017

Mixed weekend for Bees out on loan

There was one win and two narrow defeats for Brentford's three players out on loan this weekend.

Emmanuel Onariase and Cheltenham Town's impressive recent unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of Sky Bet League Two leaders Doncaster Rovers on Saturday. Rovers struck either side of half-time at The Keepmoat Stadium through Andy Butler and John Marquis to preserve their position at the head of affairs in League Two. The defeat ended The Robins four game unbeaten run, during which time they had kept four clean sheets and leaves them seven points clear of the relegation zone ahead of Tuesday's trip to Exeter City.

Jan Holldack suffered defeat with SV Wuppertaler for the first time since joining in January after they were beaten 1-0 at Alemannia Aachen. The only goal of the game came on the hour as Joy-Lance Mickels fired home from a tight angle. Jan came closest to scoring for SVW, firing a free-kick inches wide early on and then again going close in the dying minutes. SVW drop to seventh after the defeat ahead of Friday's home game against second-placed Borussia Dortmund II.

Andy Gogia is still out injured, but in his absence Dynamo Dresden picked up another impressive three points in their 2.Bundesliga promotion charge. Aias Aosman and Niklas Kreuzer were on target after the break against Würzburger Kickers to secure the points at Stadion am Dallenberg. The win keeps Dresden fifth, seven points off the promotion spots, with a home game against SV Sandhausen coming up next weekend.
