Striker called up for World Cup qualifier against Romania next Sunday
Lasse Vibe has been added to Åge Hareide's Denmark squad for their upcoming 2018 World Cup Qualifier against Romania. The Danes head to Cluj next Sunday, 26 March, for a crucial game in Group E, kick-off 9.45pm local time (7.45pm UK time).
Hareide named his initial 21-man squad earlier this week but left two spaces open as he weighed up his options. This morning the experienced coach added Lasse and former FC Midtjylland midfielder Pione Sisto to complete his 23 man squad which also includes Bees defender Andreas Bjelland and the Premier League pair of Leicester City's Kasper Schmeichel and Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen
Denmark are currently third in their group with six points from four matches, a point ahead of next weekend's opponents. With the top two, Poland and Montenegro, facing each other at the same time, a win for Denmark would either see them move into second-place or leave them just a point off top spot.
Lasse has scored once in ten appearances for Denmark and also captained his country at the Olympic Football tournament in Rio De Janeiro last summer, playing every minute as The Danes reached the Quarter-Finals.
The striker has scored nine goals in 27 appearances for Brentford this season, including six in his last ten starts. Last season he was The Bees joint top scorer with 14 goals in all competitions.
