Bees winger beaten to February award by Aiden McGeady
Jota's five goals and two assists last month weren't enough to see him lift the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month Award for February. The Spanish winger contributed at least a goal or an assist in all five of The Bees' matches last month but was beaten to the award by Preston North End's Aiden McGeady.
The judging panel of Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon, and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery gave the award to the Irish winger who scored three goals last month, including two against The Bees, and added four assists as Simon Grayson's side picked up 11 points from a possible 15.
Jota's tally in the month of February included a hat-trick in the win over Rotherham United, goals against Reading and Brighton and Hove Albion, and assists at Reading and Sheffield Wednesday.
