John Egan named in provisional squad for Republic of Ireland

Defender named in Martin O'Neill's 39 man shortlist.

The 24-year-old moved to Griffin Park in the summer after an impressive spell at Gillingham which saw him named in the 2015/16 PFA League One Team of the Year. The Irish defender hit the ground running in West London, scoring twice on his home debut against Ipswich Town, before adding a third goal in September away at Aston Villa - adding a fourth to his total at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday in February.

John Egan has been named in the provisional 39-man Republic of Ireland squad list ahead of their World Cup  Qualifier and Friendly fixtures against Wales and Iceland respectively. Details of if he has made the squad of 23 will be announced over the coming days.
Egan has helped the Bees achieve ten clean sheets in his 35 apperances since joining.
