Joe Hardy thanks Lee Carsley for career move

Incoming forward says former Head Coach led him to Griffin Park switch

New B Team striker Joe Hardy has said former Bees Head Coach Lee Carsley was instrumental in the move to Griffin Park as he signed a three-year contract that will keep him in TW8 until at least the summer of 2020.

“I was at Manchester City and Lee Carsley was the manager there and he put me forward for it,” said Joe. “I’m really looking forward to it and can’t wait to get started.”

Carsley, now Youth Team manager at Manchester City after being appointed in the summer, gave Joe the lowdown on what to expect at Brentford.

“He told me it was a really good club with a good standard of football,” said Joe. “I’ve got to show what I can do. I came down to see the stadium and the Training Ground a couple of weeks back and it looked really good and like the feel of it.”

Joe gave a tip on what fans should expect, adding “I’m quick; I like getting in behind [the defence] and scoring goals.”
