International Round-Up: Rico Henry earns second England Under-20 cap

26 March 2017

Bees defender involved as England beat France 1-0 in Brittany

Rico Henry earned his second England Under-20s cap as a second-half substitute in Saturday's 1-0 Four Nations Tournament win over France in Saint-Brieuc.

Newcastle United's Adam Armstrong scored the only goal of the game 19 minutes from time, clinically slotting home after being set free by Oxford United's Ryan Ledson. By this time Rico had come on for Derby County's Max Lowe to earn his second cap. The Brentford left-back played the final 25 minutes as The Young Lions held on to pick up the three points.

The result means Simpson’s side top the table going into the final match with four points after Senegal beat Portugal by 3-0 in the day's other game.

England will play Senegal in the third and final game on Tuesday afternoon, knowing that a win will be enough to crown them as tournament winners as Simpson's World Cup preparations continue to intensify.
