Ireland held 0-0 by ten-man Wales in Dublin
Brentford defender John Egan was an unused substitute as the Republic of Ireland kept up their unbeaten record in FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifying with a 0-0 draw at The Aviva Stadium against Wales last night. The game in Dublin was overshadowed by a sickening injury to Ireland captain Seamus Coleman late on which saw Wales defender Neil Taylor shown a straight red card. The point sees Ireland drop to second in Group D behind Serbia but they remain four points clear of Wales and Austria in third and fourth at the midway point in qualifying.
John is in line to make his international debut on Tuesday when Martin O'Neill's side host Iceland in a friendly at The Aviva Stadium.
