Young Lions end trip to Middle East unbeaten after 4-0 win in Doha
England Under-18s completed their three-game trip to Qatar with a resounding 4-0 victory against their hosts, thanks to a spectacular Edward Nketiah hat-trick and a late George Tanner strike. After earlier victories against Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the Young Lions ensured they ended their stay in the Middle East with a 100 per cent record after a second triumph over their hosts.
Arsenal youngster Nketiah headed home the opener from Samuel Shashoua's cross in the first-period and then doubled England's lead with a moment of magic shortly after the break. There seemed little on when he picked up the ball on the left-flank but some quick feet saw him beat his man before finding the top corner from 25 yards. His hat-trick arrived courtesy of a simple tap-in before Tanner wrapped up the scoring with a neat finish late on.
Brentford B goalkeeper Ellery Balcombe watched on from the sidelines as England completed a perfect week in Doha yesterday evening. The 17-year-old earned his third cap last Wednesday when he played the full game in the 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia
