Free entry as Kevin O'Connor's side host The Citizens in season finale
Brentford B will end their first season with a showpiece friendly against Manchester City on Monday 15 May, kick-off 7pm. The game will be played at Griffin Park and entrance will be free for spectators.
Kevin O’Connor’s side have already beaten Liverpool and Manchester United in thrillers under the lights at Griffin Park this season and will be aiming to end the season by taking another Premier League scalp on The Bees home ground.
“We got more than 1,000 fans down for the game against Manchester United and it would be great if we could beat that this time around,” said Kevin. “This season we have seen a number of lads make the step from the B Team squad to the First Team squad and nights like these, under the lights, and with a good crowd, are so important in preparing them for that jump.
“We played some great football in the games against Liverpool and Manchester United. Those results showed that this group is a match for the best at their age in the country and hopefully they can prove it again against City.”
The inaugural year of The B Team has also seen O’Connor’s side take on the likes of Valencia, Villarreal, Chelsea, Hamburg SV, Tottenham Hotspur, and Bayern Munich and claim silverware by winning the Kai Thor Cup in Denmark back in January.
Manchester City’s Under-23s are currently second in the Premier League Two Division One with three games remaining in their campaign.
