The details have been confirmed for Brentford’s pre-season friendly on Saturday 15 July. It was announced last week that The Bees would be playing a game at the end of a week-long Training Camp in France. That match, against FC Lausanne-Sport, will be played at Stade de Marcy de Saint-Prex and will kick-off at 4pm local time, 3pm BST. The game will be open to Brentford fans that want to attend and details concerning admission prices will be announced when information is received.
Saint-Prex is a small town in Switzerland on the northern banks of Lake Geneva. It is situated around 15km from Lausanne and around 45km from the centre of Geneva. The stadium itself was built in 2015 and holds around 1,500 spectators.
Lausanne-Sport, also known in some circles as LS, play in the Swiss top flight. They have won the Swiss title seven times and the cup nine times. LS spent two years outside the top division but won promotion in 2016 and secured their status back in the Swiss Super League last season. Managed by former Swiss international Fabio Celestini, LS include former Queens Park Rangers defender Taye Taiwo and Swiss international Nassim Ben Khalifa in their ranks.
The game is one of six now confirmed for The Bees in pre-season. Premier League Southampton will come to Griffin Park on Saturday 22 July while there are also three away games in the schedule. The Bees start their pre-season campaign away to Aldershot Town on Friday 7 July and then travel to Oxford United on Wednesday 19 July and Milton Keynes Dons on Tuesday 25 July. The pre-season programme will end with a match against Europa League Semi-Finalists Celta Vigo at Griffin Park on Saturday 29 July.
