'Everything's really good' says a returning Jan Holldack

German midfielder talks about returning to the B Team

Jan Holldack signed a new contract last week to see him extend his stay at Griffin Park for another year. He spent a lot of last season on loan at Wuppertaler SV, something he feels has helped him progress.

"Germany was really good for me," said Jan, speaking to iFollow after agreeing the deal on Thursday. "I got some good experience. I got four really nice months with a good team and some good players.

"I'm really happy to stay at Brentford, I've seen what happens here and everything's really good. I hope I can help the B Team to play a good season.

"I always miss the boys who I have played with before. They are all good lads and it's a joy to play with them."

Asked about what to expect from this season, Jan said: "Hopefully, I try to give my best and see what happens. I'll try to play my game, help the B Team first and see what happens.

"I think it's why I'm here, to get better every day. I have a good coach in Kevin [O'Connor] and he will help me.

"I've worked with Kev earlier last season and I always enjoyed working with him, he's a good coach. He helped me every day to get better but he also has a good personality. He's a really nice coach and I'm happy to play for him."

Jan made it clear that the fixture schedule was a big attraction from last season. With teams like Manchester United and Liverpool visiting West London, it's no surprise Jan is hoping for a similar term this time round.

"If we play against big teams, a lot more people see you and you see what level you are," said Jan. "I really look forward to these games and hopefully we have some good games this season."
