New Brentford B signing Ali Coote is happy to have joined Kevin O'Connor's squad ahead of the 2017/18 season. The Scottish midfielder gave his initial reaction to signing a three-year contract at Griffin Park earlier today.

"It's a very exciting time for me to be moving down," said Ali, speaking to iFollow at The Bees' Osterley Training Ground. "I can't wait to get started."

When asked about his overall impression of the Club so far, Ali said: "It's been very professional and organised so far. The journey down was smooth, the pick up was smooth and I moved into the accommodation so everything has been smooth so far."

The 19-year-old admitted that he was impressed by the Club's attitude to developing an elite group of young players.

"With scrapping the acadmey and just taking on two teams, really focussing on a small bunch of players, that's what caught my eye.

"I think it was 16 first team appearances I made last season, most of them being sub appearances so I would have liked more. To start in a cup final and win the cup final was probably the highlight of the season, so not all bad.

"Coming down here I know I'm further away but I know there is an end goal. I like to know that if you play well and you work hard, there will be a reward at the end of it for you. That's been made clear that it can happen."

Asked about his objectives for this season, Ali told iFollow that he has set his sights on impressing the coaching staff. He also explained what to expect from him on the pitch.

"I'd say I like to pass the ball, I like to attack and press high. I'm always looking to go forward, play positivley and score goals and create chances.

"I want to get back to thoroughly enjoying my football, nail down a place in the B Team then examine my goals as the season goes on."

The B Team return to training tomorrow, in The Bees' all new range from adidas. You can order your very own set online here or come into the Stadium Shop.
