Pre-season drew to an end over the past week with Dean Smith’s side registering two more wins. Last Tuesday, Neal Maupay and Ollie Watkins scored their first Brentford goals as The Bees came from behind to beat MK Dons 3-2 at stadium:MK. Ryan Seager scored twice for the hosts, either side of Neal’s strike, with Florian Jozefzoon sweeping home late on to secure the win.
Saturday saw the pre-season campaign end on a high against last year’s Europa League Semi-Finalists Celta Vigo. Lasse Vibe netted his fourth goal of pre-season midway through the first-half with Jota swinging home a sublime free-kick before the break to make it 2-0. John Guidetti pulled one back eight minutes into the second-half but Smith’s side held on for the win.
Brentford B were also in action on Saturday and they made it five wins from five with a 1-0 victory over Dulwich Hamlet in South London. Reece Cole struck the only goal of the game for Kevin O’Connor’s side midway through the opening period as his, and the B Team’s, fine run continued.
