Konstantin Kerschbaumer's life in Germany with Arminia Bielefeld has got off to a flying start with the 2.Bundesliga outfit winning their first two pre-season matches 10-0 against local opposition. Konstantin played 45 minutes in both games after completing his move to North East Germany on a season long loan deal last week.
SpVg Hiddenhausen were the first opponents at the Lippinghauser Alm on Thursday with Konstantin lining up for the first-half. Against a side seven divisions below them, DSC raced into a 4-0 lead at the break and adding six more in the second-half, despite making 11 changes.
Then on Sunday there was a local derby against VfB Fichte Bielefeld who play in the Westfalenliga which is the sixth tier of Germany football. Konstantin was introduced at half-time with Bielefeld 5-0 up and came close to opening his account shortly after. As it was a further five goals after the break gave DSC their second 10-0 win of the week.
This weekend DSC face two tough tests against the Russian top flight duo of Rubin Kazan and FK Ufa on Saturday and Sunday.
Jack Bonham's first action for Calisle United could come this Saturday as they begin their pre-season campaign with a local derby against Carlisle City at Gillford Park.
