Jack Bonham and Konstantin Kerschbaumer were both involved in friendly action over the weekend as Carlisle United and DSC Arminia Bielefeld build up to the start of their respective league campaigns.
Stopper Jack kept another clean sheet as Keith Curle's Sky Bet League Two side were held to a 0-0 draw away at National League Premier side FC Halifax Town on Saturday. Former Brentford midfielder Nicky Adams came closest to opening the scoring for The Cumbrians while Jack had to be alert to deny Bohan Dixon at the other end.
Jack is yet to concede a goal in three games since his move to the North-West and will be looking to end pre-season on a high as League One newboys Blackburn Rovers head to Brunton Park on Friday.
In Germany, Konstantin Kerschbaumer was a second-half substitute as Norwich City ran out 3-1 winners over Arminia Bielefeld on Friday night. Steven Naismith's calm finish and Cameron Jerome's penalty, either side of an Andreas Voglsammer strike for the hosts, gave The Canaries a 2-1 half-time lead. Konstantin was then introduced after an hour before Nelson Oliveira made things safe with five minutes to go.
Arminia bring the curtain down on their pre-season campaign tomorrow night at the Heidewaldstadion Gütersloh when they host more Championship opposition in the shape of Steve Bruce's Aston Villa.
