Jack Bonham sat out Carlisle United’s latest friendly at the weekend. The Brentford goalkeeper is with the Sky Bet League Two side on loan for the first half of the 2017/18 season. The Cumbrian outfit played their fourth pre-season friendly against Blythe Spartans on Saturday. Carlisle won 3-0 with a trio of late goals but Jack sat the match out as his side used a trialist goalkeeper for the majority of the contest.
Jack has played two games so far, playing 45 minutes against Workington and Carlisle City and keeping clean sheets in both matches. Carlisle have two more friendlies to come – against FC Halifax Town and Blackburn Rovers. They begin their season at home to Swindon Town.
Jack is one of two Brentford players that have agreed loan moves ahead of the 2017/18 season. Konstantin Kerschbaumer is with German second tier side DSC Arminia Bielefeld for the campaign. Their pre-season schedule continues tonight, Tuesday 18 July, when they face Wuppertaler SV.
