Jack Bonham made his second appearance for Carlisle United last night. The Brentford goalkeeper is with the Sky Bet League Two side on loan for the first half of the 2017/18 season. The Cumbrian outfit played their second pre-season friendly on Tuesday, 11 July, when they took on Penrith and swiftly followed that up with their third against Workington last night, Wednesday.
Jack played 45 minutes in the game against Workington, which Carlisle won 3-0. The Brentford goalkeeper had little to do in a first half that ended 0-0. Carlisle then scored three in the second half to take the win, their third in a row in pre-season. Carlisle’s next match is against Blyth Spartans on Saturday.
Jack is one of two Brentford players that have agreed loan moves ahead of the 2017/18 season. Konstantin Kerschbaumer is with German second tier side DSC Arminia Bielefeld for the campaign. Their pre-season schedule continued with a 5-1 win over FK Pribram from the Czech Republic yesterday.
Konstantin played the first half of the match and helped Arminia in to a 5-0 lead. He was withdrawn at the interval and the Czech side pulled a goal back but could not prevent Arminia winning the contest. The next time Konstantin may be in action is next Tuesday, 18 July, when they face Wuppertaler SV.
