B Team Head Coach Kevin O'Connor was delighted after his team came away with a 6-0 win over Benfica B in Lisbon on Wednesday.

The B Team travelled to Portugal to play The Eagles at their training ground in Seixal, which ended in a big win for The Bees. After the game Kevin spoke to iFollow about the result.

"Brilliant win," he said. "I couldn't have asked for any more really. We were very clincal and we played very well as well so I was extremely happy with that performance.

"I think the quality is definitely there, we still need to get fitter. I think the second half showed that, we dropped off a little bit. Coming out of Hungary, we're getting fitter but we need to get better at that. The quality is there and it's exciting times."

Striker Marcus Forss netted four times, including a 23-minute hat-trick to help his team on the way to a historic victory. Kevin was clearly happy with his centre forward.

"How many players can say they've scored four against a Benfica team?" Kevin smiled. "He had one disallowed as well, a fifth, which was tight. It was brilliant for him, he's impressed in training and deserved to start today. He's taken his opportunity."

Despite scoring six without reply, it was obvious that Benfica were a good side who just couldn't find a way through the Brentford back line. Kevin saw it that way too.

"It was a very even game I thought," said Kevin. "They were very good, very structured and it was a very good match. It was fairly even and the difference was that we took our chances and they missed a couple.

"We're looking to start beating the Chelseas and the other category one teams that we play in England. That's our aim, this belief will most definitely help us to acheieve that and that's what we need to do."
