B Team captain speaks about positive result at the home of FC Bayern
B Team captain Zain Westbrooke was pleased to come away from Munich with a draw against Bayern's Under-19 squad on Saturday.
An early goal was cancelled out by Bradley Clayton in the first half, and then chances came and went in the second as neither team managed to net the winner.
"It was enjoyable and it was tough," said Zain, speaking to Bees Player after the final whistle in Bavaria."They had a lot of quality."
The Bees matched their opponents for long spells of the game, and were unlucky not to sneak a victory with several second half chances falling their way. Zain reflected positively on the afternoon's work from midfield.
"I think in the first half we definitely matched them for that," he said. "We were quite unlucky to go in drawing. They got an early goal, probably one we shouldn't have conceded but we came back strong. We moved the ball very well on the Astro, which we weren't that comfortable with - we've only had two training sessions on it - but I thought we did very well.
"We dropped off a bit in the second half, conceded a bit of space and a lot of the ball, but we dealt with it very well. We defended very deep and we countered on them.
"We had a few more chances, could've even won it in the second half, but I think we're happy with the end result."
