B Team Head Coach speaks after 3-1 win

Kevin O'Connor spoke to Bees Player after his side beat Reading 2-1 at their Hogwood Park training ground on Wednesday. The B Team Head Coach was pleased following a win that saw Zain Westbrooke and Reece Cole score for The Bees in the first half.

"It was nice to win the game," said Kevin. "I thought we played well. We had to be a little bit defensive in the second half, Reading came on strong and played well as well. I was really pleased, on the back of the tournament, coming here and performing like we did and keeping that winning mentality.

"I challenged them before the game, it was no good going out there [to Denmark], playing well and winning a tournament only to come back here and not produce that on the pitch.

"They've done it today, I asked the question and they had to show the Assistant Managers [Richard O'Kelly and Thomas Frank] here how they can adapt and potentially deal with First Team players that Reading had in the first half. I thought our boys came out and did really, really well."

The squad also inluded four First Team players. Jack Bonham and Philipp Hofmann played the full match, while right-back Josh Clarke got 76 minutes and Alan McCormack was given just over an hour in midfield. Kevin was glad to ackowledge their performances.

"Hof did really well up front," said Kevin. "He was unlucky not to score today; on another day he would have scored a couple. Macca was organising for us and worked really hard as he always does and Josh Clarke at right-back did a really good job. Jack was very good, his handling and his kicking were very good. It was really pleasing to have them in the team, they always help our boys and set the standard so it's always a pleasure to have them."
