Jota hoping for consistency against Preston

Attacker responds to Brighton match and looks ahead to trip to Deepdale

Jota is hoping for a good performance in Saturday's game with Preston North End at Deepdale. The Spanish winger spoke to Bees Player yesterday about the last two fixtures, the coming week and the end of the season.

"I think the team gave a big performance," said Jota, talking about the draw with Brighton and Hove Albion. "I think we deserved more but sometimes in football one minute can change the result. I think we had a great game, all the team played well, we deserved more and I think if we give this performance every weekend then we will do good things."

After a spell on the bench, the 25-year-old has put himself in Dean Smith's First Team plans which some impressive performances in recent weeks. Overall it seems returning to West London has been a positive experience for the Spaniard.

"I'm very happy with my comeback," said Jota. "I'm happy in the team and with my teammates. I think we are in a good moment and we need to stay focussed on the next games. Sergi Canos is a great friend for me, he is good for the Club as well because he is a very good player, he's young and everyone is happy to see him."

Speaking about the upcoming matches with Preston and Reading, Jota is hoping for a good couple of results to kick-start a better second half of the season.

"We have a good game we can win," said Jota. "Every game is a difficult one and it's an away game, but I think the team are very focused and that we can win the game. Obviously, we'd prefer to play at Griffin Park all the time but this league is like this. Maybe you have two games away or two games at home, the team is focussed on the coming games. We know if we win these two games then we can go up in the table. We need a big second half of the season but I think it's possible because the team have great players. We've beaten Aston Villa, we drew 3-3 with Brighton at the top of the league and the team outplayed these teams. With our players and with the performances we gave in the last few weeks we can make the play-offs and I think the team are focussed on that."
