Supporters and former players talk about the beginnings of the fightback against QPR's proposed takeover

This year commemorates the 50th anniversary of one of the most turbulent periods in the history of Brentford FC as QPR sought to take over Griffin Park and leave The Bees homeless. The news stunned the footballing world but it didn't take long for fans, players, and staff to come together to fight off the proposed takeover. As part of our look back at the events of the time, former players and fans look back as the fightback against the proposals began in earnest.

We’ll be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Bees fans saving the Club on Saturday 25 February when we welcome Rotherham United to Griffin Park. Tickets are on General Sale and start from £20 for adults with children just £1 so book your tickets today to take part to the celebrations.
