18 February 2017

The voice of Brentford speaks about how the actions of 1967 inspired him to get involved with the club

This year commemorates the 50th anniversary of one of the most turbulent periods in the history of Brentford FC as QPR sought to take over Griffin Park and leave The Bees homeless. The news stunned the footballing world but it didn't take long for fans, players, and staff to come together to fight off the proposed takeover. As part of our look back at the events of the time, Peter Gilham, matchday announcer and Player Liason Officer, speaks about why those events inspired him to get involved with the club.

We’ll be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Bees fans saving the Club on Saturday 25 February when we welcome Rotherham United to Griffin Park. Tickets are on General Sale and start from £20 for adults with children just £1 so book your tickets today to take part to the celebrations.
