Sergi Canos' performance in our 3-1 derby win over Fulham has seen him named in the EFL Team of the Week.
The 20-year-old netted his first goal of the season as Dean Smith's side came from behind to take the west London bragging rights at Griffin Park. Neeskens Kebano put Fulham ahead midway through the first-half but Sergi finished off a flowing counter-attack to level before the break. After half-time Romaine Sawyers and Ollie Watkins also found the net as Fulham left Griffin Park empty handed for the third time in four visits.
The EFL Team of the Week, published on the EFL website, is drawn from the performances over the previous weekend's action across all Sky Bet EFL divisions. Sergi is the fifth Brentford player to be recognised this season. Previous Teams of the Week this term have seen Josh Clarke, Daniel Bentley, and Florian Jozefzoon make the selection after their performances against Queens Park Rangers, Millwall, and Sunderland respectively while Yoann Barbet has been included twice, following the wins over Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United.
