Match Preview: Barnet vs Brentford B

Battle of the Bees to kick off this afternoon

5 December 2017

Brentford B play a Barnet XI later on this afternoon at the North London Club's training ground, a game that is open to supporters.

Kevin O'Connor's side are hoping to bounce back after a run of three defeats in three to Premier League opposition.

Swansea City, AFC Bournemouth and Huddersfield Town overcame The Bees in a run of games that did see improvements as the fixtures came and went. From an opening 6-2 loss in South Wales, to a 3-0 home defeat against The Cherries, they ended their triple-header with a valiant effort despite a 2-0 defeat in West Yorkshire.

B Team Head Coach Kevin O'Connor spoke to iFollow yesterday and had this to say:

"I want the boys to react in the right way, which they have done in the last games. Even though the results haven't been great, the reaction has been much better. There has been a positive in that.

"I want them to go out there and show how good they can be. We don't know what team we are going to face. It could be a mix of First Team players, it could be their 23s, whoever they face they need to go and show the people watching what they are about."

The last match against The Terriers saw Raphael Assibey-Mensah make his 49th appearance for Brentford B, meaning Tuesday could see him hit 50 for O'Connor's side.

Reece Cole, Herson Rodrigues Alves and Henrik Johansson missed the game through injury. While Johansson's recovery is more long-term, Cole and Alves could see a return to action this afternoon with a run out.

Barnet have confirmed that the match will be open to supporters. There is a car park beside The Hive Stadium, close to the pitch that will host Brentford B, parking costs £1 and the seating around the pitch is covered in case of bad weather.
