A single Richard Bennett first-half goal was enough to secure three points for Carlisle United at Forest Green on Saturday. The striker headed home a free-kick on the half-hour as The Cumbrians took the points at The New Lawn. Jack Bonham, fresh from extending his stay at Brunton Park until the end of the season, kept his sixth clean sheet in the win which sees Keith Curle’s side climb to 13th ahead of this afternoon’s home game against Accrington Stanley.
Jack was the only one of The Bees four players out on loan to play last weekend. Tom Field was an unused substitute with Bradford City as they were beaten 2-1 at AFC Wimbledon while Zain Westbrooke was not involved in Leyton Orient’s 2-0 win on the road at Maidstone United. Both Bradford and Orient are in home action this afternoon with Peterborough United and Dagenham and Redbridge the respective visitors, while Konstantin Kerschbaumer and DSC Arminia Bielefeld remain on their winter break.
