Herson Rodrigues Alves made a scoring return to action in Brentford B's 2-1 win over Wolves U23 on Thursday afternoon. The 20-year-old spoke to iFollow after the match at Jersey Road.
”For me it’s good because I’ve just come back from a slight knee injury,” said Herson.
”It was nothing too serious, but for me to come back here and get a few minutes as well as score a goal was brilliant.”
The Portuguese attacker made his first appearance since picking up an injury in early November. He thinks the away side gave Brentford B a good challenge in West London.
”It was a tough game,” said Herson. “Even though we went 2-0 up, Wolves came out in the second half and were really strong. It was a good game.”
”For me it was great to be back, but for Reece [Cole] as well. He’s also been out with a knee injury but he needed surgery as well so I’m just happy to see him back on the pitch with me.”
Alan Judge also made his second appearance after returning from a broken leg, getting just over 70 minutes on the field. Herson spoke about how nice it is to see the Irishman back in action.
”It’s always good to have First Team players involved because it shows the level he is at, and that’s where all of us want to be.
“It shows good character because he’s been out for over a year and a bit, so for him to come out here with us is really good.”
Asked if he was pleased with his day, Herson said: “I’m very happy to be back, and I got a goal. There’s nothing more I can ask for.”
