Tomorrow's game at Griffin Park may well see The Bees come up against a former promotion winning striker at Griffin Park in the shape of Jordan Rhodes.
The Scotland international scored seven goals in 14 games while on loan with The Bees to propel Andy Scott’s side to the 2008/09 Sky Bet League Two title. Jordan was an eight-figure signing for The Owls in the summer and has four goals to his name in 21 Sky Bet Championship appearances this campaign.
The 27-year-old joins an impressive roll call of strikers who have represented both clubs stretching all the way back to Jack Allen, who scored 28 goals in 61 games for The Bees and 85 goals in 114 games for Wednesday, in the 1920s and 1930s.
Brentford Hall of Fame inductee Dai Hopkins was another to play for both clubs as did Andy McCulloch, a legend with both sets of fans. Dai failed to make an appearance for Wednesday but was a mainstay of The Bees top division side of the 1930s, scoring 77 goals in 314 official appearances while Andy scored 22 goals for The Bees during the 1977/78 promotion winning season and repeated the trick two years later helping The Owls to promotion.
Another Hall of Fame member Lloyd Owusu, scored nearly 100 goals for the two clubs while Deon Burton, Andy Sinton, and Michael Turner are among the others to have represented both clubs with distinction.
