Theo Archibald has been included in the Scotland Under-21 squad for the first time in preparation for their opening UEFA Under-21 European Championship Qualifier against Holland. Scot Gemmill’s side face The Dutch on Tuesday, 5 September 2017, kick-off 7.30pm at the Paisley 2021 Stadium, Paisley.
Theo made his Sky Bet Championship debut last Saturday against Ipswich Town and was on the bench for last night’s 4-1 Carabao Cup win over QPR, following his summer move from Celtic. The 19-year-old played in the Victory Shield when at Under-16 level and made his Under-19 debut earlier this year. He earned two caps at Under-19 level and played for Scotland in the final qualifying rounds for the European Championships in March.
Gemmill’s side are in Group 4 of Qualifying for Italy 2019 alongside Latvia, Andorra, England, Ukraine, and next month’s opponents Holland.
