James Linington handed Saturday's Forest match

Match Officials confirmed for this weekend's Griffin Park opener

9 August 2017

Referee: James Linington

Assistant Referees: Mark Russell and Lee Venamore

Fourth Official: Trevor Kettle

This will be James' tenth season as an EFL referee, having joined the list in 2008.

The Isle of Wight official's first two Brentford games were both 1-1 draws at Griffin Park, against Lincoln City and Darlington, during Andy Scott's 2008/09 League Two winning season. In total, he has taken charge of 11 Bees games, with Brentford winning three and drawing two. The most recent game involving Dean Smith's side was last October's 2-0 defeat at home to Barnsley.

Last season, James showed more yellow cards than any other Sky Bet Championship referee, 127 in total, alongside four reds and nine penalties in 29 games.
