Ten players from the Brentford First Team and B Team squads have been called-up to represent their nations over the coming international break. Here’s a full rundown on when and where our boys will be in action.

Denmark face two crucial World Cup Qualifiers in four days as they look to secure their spot in the Play-Offs for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The Danes are currently third in Group E with ten points from six games, level on points with second-placed Montenegro and six points behind leaders Poland with four games remaining. The nine group winners qualify automatically for next year's tournament with the eight best second-placed teams going into a Play-Off for the remaining four spots.

South Africa vs Cape Verde, Tuesday 5 September, kick-off 7pm, Moses Madhiba Stadium, Durban
Bafana Bafana are currently second in Group D of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup with four points from two games. September’s opponents Cape Verde prop up the table after a pair of defeats to Burkina Faso and Senegal. The five group winners will automatically qualify for next summer’s tournament so two wins next month will go a long-way to securing South Africa’s, and Kamohelo’s participation in Russia.
Scotland Under-21 vs Holland Under-21, Tuesday 5 September, kick-off 7.30pm, Paisley 2021 Stadium, Paisley
Theo has received his first international call-up to the Scotland Under-21 group as Scot Gemmill’s side prepare for their opening UEFA Under-21 European Championship Qualifier. The Scots are in Group 4 of Qualifying for Italy 2019 alongside Latvia, Andorra, England, Ukraine, and next month’s opponents Holland.

Portugal Under-21 vs Wales Under-21, Tuesday 5 September, kick-off 7.15pm, Campo de Treinos do Municipal de Chaves, Chaves
Rob Page’s side are in Group 8 of qualifying for the 2019 UEFA Under-21 European Championships with Switzerland and Portugal, who are joined also by Romania, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Liechtenstein.

England Under-19 vs Germany Under-19, Tuesday 5 September, kick-off 7.30pm, Field Mill, Mansfield
Paul Simpson’s reigning UEFA Under-19 European Champions play their first games since this summer’s success as they take on Poland and Germany in a pair of friendly matches over the weekend. Ellery also experienced success this pre-season, being part of the England group which won the prestigious Toulon Tournament in France.

The B Team’s full-back duo of Lukas and Mads have been included in Henrik Clausen's 17-man Denmark Under-19 squad for a Four Nations tournament in Norway this week. It’s Lukas’ first inclusion within the Under-19 set-up for his nation while Mads will be looking to add to his two caps at this level.

The Brentford B striker has been called-up to Kimmo Lipponen’s squad for a Four Nations tournament on home soil this international break. The B Team’s top scorer this season with five goals will be looking to add to an impressive record of six goals in nine matches for his nation.
John Egan is also on standby for the Republic of Ireland as they prepare for their two 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Georgia on Saturday 2 September and Serbia on Tuesday 5 September.
The six call-ups for players from the Brentford B squad mean that tonight’s scheduled friendly match at Griffin Park against Chelsea has been postponed. In its place Kevin O’Connor’s B Team will now host Queens Park Rangers under the lights at Griffin Park next Tuesday, 5 September, kick-off 7.45pm, with free entry for all spectators.
