History made at Griffin Park on Saturday

Goal-line technology used for first-time

13 August 2017

Andreas Bjelland made Brentford history on Saturday as his late header became the first Griffin Park goal ever to be awarded with the use of Goal-line technology.

The new referee aid was installed at all Sky Bet Championship grounds this summer after a successful year-long trial in the Premier League last season.

Andreas's late header, his first goal in a Brentford shirt, was parried by Forest goalkeeper Jordan Smith but crept over the line with referee James Linington awarding the goal based on the signal received from the Goal-line technology.
