Brentford head to QPR in Carabao Cup Second Round

West London derby up next in EFL Cup for Bees

10 August 2017

Brentford will travel to West London rivals Queens Park Rangers in the Second Round of the Carabao Cup. The tie will be played in the week commencing Monday 21 August and details of the game will be announced as soon as possible.

Dean Smith's side booked their place in Round Two with a 3-1 extra-time victory over AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday. Paul Robinson gave The Dons a first-half lead but Romaine Sawyers levelled the tie with a fine goal 20 minutes from time. The extra 30 minutes saw Ollie Watkins curl home his first Brentford goal before Justin Shaibu's first professional goal put the seal on The Bees progression.

Rangers beat Sky Bet League One side Northampton Town in Round One thanks to Yeni Ngbakoto's first-half strike at Loftus Road on Tuesday night. The Bees did the double over Ian Holloway's side last season, winning 2-0 at Loftus Road in October before a 3-1 victory at Loftus Road in April.
