Defender looks ahead to a tough season finale
Yoann Barbet was happy to have kept a clean sheet in Brentford's 2-0 win over Bristol City at Griffin Park on Saturday. The Frenchman spoke to Bees Player shortly after the final whistle in a tough game against The Robins.
"We needed three points and now we have three points," Said Yoann. "It was a good day for us, it was a great first half and I think we played really well. We deserved to win going into half time.
"The second half was a bit harder, we looked a bit tired I think. They had some chances, they hit the post twice so we were a little bit lucky also. It's good to have a win and clean sheet.
"It's tough to play Bristol, they are playing to save their lives in the Championship. We knew it would be a hard game, I think it was."
Yoann returned to Griffin Park as a member of the starting XI for the first time this year as a centre-back. He was clearly happy to be back alongside Harlee Dean for the second match in a row.
"I had to wait a long time to play a game at centre-back, it is only my second game of the season there. They were long months but I've been patient and I have the opportunity to play a few games. I have to be good and play well to saty in my position."
Yoann, like the rest of the squad, are now pushing on to see where the points can take them in the table before the end of the season. The 23-year-old knows it will be tough until the end of the season.
"It will be tough, we play Leeds on Tuesday. They are playing for the play-offs and to get promoted so we have some great games to finish, I think it would be great for us to finish in the top ten."
