Jarvis Edobor signs new one-year contract

B Team defender gets extended deal at Griffin Park

B Team defender Jarvis Edobor has signed an extension to his contract at Griffin Park. The 17-year-old, who joined The Bees at the end of last season, agreed a 14-month deal that will see him extend his stay in red and white stripes until the summer of 2018.

Jarvis signed for Brentford at the end of the 2015/16 campaign and has made 31 appearances for Kevin O'Connor's side in total, including a handful games in Spain, Germany and Denmark.

Rob Rowan, Brentford FC Head of Football Operations, said: “I’m pleased Jarvis has signed his contract with us. Jarvis hasn’t been in ‘professional football’ for too long, therefore, he is a little raw in some areas of his game which is acceptable when you haven’t been exposed to more structured training and/or the requirements set upon young players from a physical and tactical perspective.

"Over the past year he’s shown the Technical Staff & I that he has improved in some areas of his game and potentially more importantly he has shown an understanding of where his weaknesses are and how to improve them.

"This will be Jarvis’s first year out of school and in a full time programme, therefore, it will be a big change for him personally and physically but the Technical Staff are looking forward to utilising that extra time to work with him and develop him further so it’s essential he shows the same commitment."
