Defender's performance against QPR sees him make EFL selection
John Egan's performance in Friday night's 2-0 local derby win over Queens Park Rangers has seen him named in the EFL Team of the Midweek.
The 24-year-old was a rock at the heart of The Bees defence as Dean Smith's side recorded a first win over Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road since 1964. Josh Clarke and Romaine Sawyers got themselves on the scoresheet but at the other end of the pitch John dealt with everything the R's could throw at him, and made a brilliant goal-line clearance to deny Idrissa Sylla.
John's performance saw him selected in the EFL Team of the Week, published on the EFL website, which is drawn from the performances over the previous weekends' action in all Sky Bet Football League divisions. John joins Scott Hogan in twice making the Team of the Weekend after the striker's selection following the wins over Brighton and Hove Albion and Preston North End in September: John's previous inclusion came after his double against Ipswich Town at Griffin Park in August.
