Brentford B attacker agrees month long move to National League side
Herson Alves has today, Sunday 27 November, joined National League side Sutton United on a 28-day Youth Loan. The paperwork for the move was completed this morning with Herson staying at Gander Green Lane until 22 December. The attacker, who has been with Brentford since 2012, is the B Team’s leading scorer this season with seven goals in 15 appearances, including strikes against Liverpool and Manchester United at Griffin Park.
Sutton United are currently 13th in the National League after Saturday’s 2-0 win at home to Aldershot Town. Paul Doswell’s side have four matches over the duration of Herson’s loan spell, starting with a league game at home to Dover Athletic on Tuesday night before Saturday’s FA Cup Second Round tie at home to League Two side Cheltenham Town.
Head of Football Operations Rob Rowan said: “It wasn’t initially in our plans to send Herson out on loan as he has really improved over the past six months and contributes significantly to the development of those around him by the way he trains every day. However, Sutton contacted us and we agreed that it would be a good opportunity for Herson to be involved in some really big fixtures for Sutton, including their FA Cup tie next weekend. Hopefully he can contribute to some success for them over the next 28 days.”
