Kevin O'Connor assumes role as Brentford B Head Coach

Flemming Pedersen has left his role as B Team Head Coach at Brentford after compensation was agreed for him to start a new role early. The Club announced last month that Flemming had agreed to take up a position as Technical Director at FC Nordsjælland, a club where he has a long history. Last night, Wednesday November 16, an agreement was reached for Flemming to leave Brentford immediately and head back to his home country to take up the post. Kevin O’Connor has now assumed the position as B Team Head Coach.

Flemming leaves Brentford after 17 months in West London. He has been B Team Head Coach since the group was launched last summer and his last match in charge was a 2-1 win over League of Ireland Champions Dundalk yesterday. Kevin has assisted Flemming for the last 11 months when the pair worked with the Club’s Development Squad and then B Team. His first match in charge is scheduled to be against Southampton at the end of the month.

Rasmus Ankersen, Brentford FC Co-Director of Football, said: "As I said when his departure was announced, Flemming is a brilliant coach and his tactical insight and deep commitment to the game have made a big impact at Brentford FC. We are gutted to see him leave, but we wish him all the best in FC Nordsjælland. Now compensation has been agreed all parties can now move on and Kevin can take on the role of continuing to improve the players we have within the B Team group.”
