Free entry to supporters as B Team take on Red Devils
Brentford B will have the chance to test themselves against one of the biggest clubs in world football this afternoon as Manchester United Under-23s visit Griffin Park for a friendly, kick-off 3pm. Entry to the match will be free for all spectators via the Braemar Road stand.
The B Team have already taken on Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea this season and now The Red Devils are the next high-profile opponents to be lined up for Flemming Pedersen’s group. The Bees have lost just one of their last six matches and beat Liverpool’s Under-23s on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time the last time out at Griffin Park in front of nearly 800 supporters.
Since the Professional Development League was inaugurated in 2012 United have been crowned Champions three times, including last year’s running. This season they currently sit eighth in Division One with eight points from their six matches. Recent graduates from the Academy at Old Trafford include England Internationals Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford as well as Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.
