Bees to head to Germany this summer as part of 2016/17 preparations

The 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship season is now little over a month away and preparations for the new campaign are in full swing. Season Tickets for Brentford’s third consecutive term in the Sky Bet Championship are selling well and the pre-season training and fixture schedule is now complete.

Brentford will play six pre-season friendlies in July as part of their preparations for the 2016/17 season. Two of these matches will be at Griffin Park with four away from home. The Club can confirm all of those pre-season matches and also the details of a pre-season training camp.

Pre-season will be as follows:

Friday 8 July – Boreham Wood (A)

Saturday 9 July to Friday 15 July – Training Camp in North West Germany

Wednesday 13 July – VfL Bochum (A)

Tuesday 19 July – Wycombe Wanderers (A)

Saturday 23 July – 1. FC Kaiserslautern (H)

Tuesday 26 July – Peterborough United (H)

Saturday 30 July – Millwall (A) - Tony Craig Testamonial

More details will follow in due course.


This season will see fixtures against Fulham, Queens Park Rangers, Newcastle United and Aston Villa and tickets for those matches will be released throughout the season. The 2016/17 Fixtures were released on Wednesday 22 June as Dean Smith and the team start with a trip to Huddersfield Town. Cardiff City are the visitors on Boxing Day while the final away game of the season is a short trip to local rivals Fulham. The full fixture list for the upcoming season can be found here. There's also a first ever match against Burton Albion to enjoy while Aston Villa will visit Griffin Park for the first time since 1953.
